Women Chainmakers Festival

Thousands of people attended the free festival in Cradley Heath town centre to celebrate and honour the female chainmakers of Cradley Heath who went on strike for better pay and conditions in 1910.

The festival re-enacts the struggle and celebrates the achievements of the trade union both then and now. This festival continues to raise awareness of the challenges facing women today. The event was organised by the TUC
